Treasury’s Financial Management Legislation team is consulting on the draft Treasury Policy and Guidelines for the Framework for Financial and Annual Reporting. The policies support the legislative requirements for the preparation of financial reports and annual reporting information for GSF agencies.
Treasury is seeking feedback by 14 February 2025.
In 2009, NSW Treasury introduced the Internal Audit and Risk Management Policy for the NSW Public Sector (TPP09-05). Since then, the policy has undergone revisions in 2015 and 2020, resulting in TPP20-08: the Internal Audit and Risk Management Policy for the NSW Government Sector. Despite these updates, key elements have remained consistent since 2009.

NSW Treasury is undertaking an independent evaluation of the 2021 COVID-19 Business Support Programs provided during the Delta lockdown from July 2021 until October 2021.
The independent evaluation, led by John Pierce AO, will examine the efficiency, effectiveness, and appropriateness of the three grant programs to determine whether the programs were implemented as intended, were value for money, achieved their outcomes and delivered the programs’ anticipated economic benefits. Lessons learned will be used to inform future policy responses.

Treasury’s Commercial Policy team is consulting on the review and refresh of Treasury Policy and Guidelines: Performance Reporting and Monitoring Policy for Government Businesses.
The purpose of the Policy is to encourage implementation and maintenance of effective performance reporting practices by government businesses. These practices are vital in ensuring the accountability and continuing strong performance of government businesses.
The policy applies to Public Financial Corporations, Public Non-Financial Corporations including State Owned Corporations and other general government sector entities subject to Treasury assessment.

Treasury’s Financial Management Policy team has released a new Treasury Policy and Guidance, TPG24-08 CFO Certification on the Internal Control Framework over Financial Systems and Information, and launched the CFO Certification Toolkit to assist agencies implement the new policy.
