The COVID-19 Vouchers Evaluation Report evaluates the three major voucher programs delivered by the NSW Government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dine & Discover NSW

The Dine & Discover NSW scheme provided NSW residents aged 18 and over with six $25 vouchers, totalling $150, to support local businesses. Three vouchers were to spend at food service businesses, while the other three were for arts and recreation activities. This initiative was aimed to stimulate the economy and encourage community engagement.

Stay NSW

The Stay NSW voucher scheme provided NSW residents aged 18 and over with a $50 voucher to spend on holiday accommodation within the State. This initiative was a part of a $250 million tourism recovery program aimed at boosting local tourism and supporting businesses.

Parents NSW

The Parents NSW voucher scheme provided eligible households with five $50 vouchers, totalling $250, to spend at ‘Stay’ or ‘Discover’ businesses. The scheme was intended to reward and thank eligible households for their efforts to support learning from home during the pandemic.

Evaluation report

The vouchers were independently evaluated by external consulting firm Accenture, addressing four key areas: Relevance; Implementation; Effectiveness; and Efficiency.

The evaluation provides recommendations for developing and implementing economic stimulus programs in response to future public health restrictions.
