The NSW Performance and Wellbeing Framework is being developed to measure and report on the performance of NSW Government services, and quality of life for the people of New South Wales.
A Performance and Wellbeing Consultation Paper was released as part of the NSW Budget 2024-25. The paper includes a Performance and Wellbeing Framework to show how we are progressing on our long-term reform plans to build a better New South Wales.
The Framework aims to put the NSW community’s needs and aspirations at the centre of government decision-making. Community views can be provided through the Have Your Say platform or submissions to the Legislative Assembly inquiry. The NSW Government will undertake further consultation throughout 2024.
The Framework is informed by the Australian Government’s ‘Measuring What Matters’ statement, adapted for New South Wales. The Framework will also complement Treasury’s Investment Framework guidelines such as the Business Case Policy and Guidelines, which inform government decision processes. These guidelines work together to ensure that policy and decision making is informed by evidence.
The Performance and Wellbeing Framework will support improved transparency and accountability through timely reporting of wellbeing and performance information that will inform government decision making.
Over time, the Framework can help us to work together towards a healthier, stronger and more prosperous community.
