Our 12-month NSW Treasury Graduate Program offers successful applicants an amazing role within NSW Treasury. The program offers variety, professional development and the opportunity to make a real impact for the people of NSW. In the past year alone our graduates have worked on State-wide projects including, the ‘Poles and Wires’ transactions, the Sydney Metro and Light Rail developments.

Over the course of the 12-month program you will participate in three different role placements throughout Treasury providing you with the flexibility to experience all facets of our agency. Working with various teams and managers will not only give you a great insight into where your career path lies but also allow you to build lasting professional relationships.

You will take part in our professional development program which has been tailored towards sustained graduate learning and development. You’ll access on the job training, e-learning and participate in workshops to develop and build your technical and interpersonal skills. Graduates also work together as a group on a number of different projects such as the coordination of events and the review of various proposals and programs.

At the completion of the program graduates have the opportunity to be placed in an ongoing role within Treasury.

We are seeking people from a broad range of degrees including Accounting, Business, Commerce, Economics and Finance. Combined qualifications incorporating Public Policy, Politics of Law will also be considered.

Application steps

NSW Treasury advertises the Graduate Program is advertised via the IworkForNSW website. Applications will open in late July. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within the month of September to be invited to an assessment centre.

Candidates who are invited to participate in the assessment centre will be involved in three different types of capability activities to evaluate your suitability to a role. Examples of assessments that have been undertaken include verbal and numerical reasoning cognitive tests, group activities, written exercises and an interview.

Once referee checks have been completed offers will be made to successful candidates by October and those people who have been successful in being a part of the graduate talent pool will be notified.
